Domaine J. Laurens

In the 80s, a Champenois steeped in the great tradition of sparkling wines understands all the interest of the Limoux terroir as a Controlled Designation of Origin since 1938 – one of the oldest in France – and decides to settle there. Michel Dervin buys a few hectares of vines to produce the famous Blanquette de Limoux.

In 2002, Jacques Calvel takes up the torch. Relying on the know-how of Michel (still based in Champagne) and the cellar master, Henri Albrus, Jacques decides to expand and modernize the cellar in order to ensure again and always the quality of wines from one year to another.

Today, the J.Laurens wine estate is proud to produce a complete range of Blanquette and Crémant de Limoux, to have renewed the wine estate and the equipment, to have developed sales, expanded the buildings of the estate while having kept the pioneering mindset of the first years.

A few kilometers from the famous city of Carcassonne, the J.Laurens estate extends over more than 50 hectares on the edge of the small village of La Digne d’Aval on the vineyard of the Appellation d’Origine Contrôlée de Limoux. The estate produces exclusively sparkling wines with AOC recognized in France but also in Europe, the United States, Canada, Japan, Australia and Norway.
